Veteran Assault Squad First Five Finished

So there they are.

I am quite proud, they turned out even better than my last squad.

I tried to freehand the Blood Angels insignia on that Combat Shield. It's not accurate at all, but I think it turned out looking okay, although not professional looking at all!

As for the power weapons, I was disappointed. I ended up going way too heavy on the white. But still, they look pretty good. I also like the way all of their wings and the two chainswords came out.

Pretty darned good if I do say so myself!

Also, keep an eye out for my next post, which will have my slightly converted counts as Lemartes model. It was my first try with greenstuff, so I had a little fun (I should have tried something less important!)

Army is coming along... slowly.

As of now, I have completed painting Brother Corbulo, my Assault Squad, and have begun painting my Veteran Assault Squad. I am very pleased with the way these guys are coming out, and while they are nowhere near the quality of some of the other armies I have seen, they are significantly better than the ones I painted several years ago. Here are some pictures, because I am so proud of them :P

I wish I could have taken a few close up shots of them, but my camera is a piece o' crap.

Anyway, here they are.

EDIT: I just looked at that first picture, and Corbulo looks like a drunk. LOL.

Assault Squad Finished! (Enought for Me Anyways!)

I finished my Blood Angels assault squad the other day, and they have been sitting on my desk-altar since then so I can gaze happily upon my handiwork. I just thought I would share their glory with the world.

I'm so proud *happy sob*

That genestealer there is one that my Girlfriend painted. She named him Walter.

I had to name my marines too, (I am so excited about this, I will attempt to name pretty much all of them.)

I call the sergeant "Vladimir." Named after Vlad the Impaler of course, He gets this honor for being my first fully painted (to my current standard) marine.

The dude with surfer hair has been named Aleksander.

Also, sorry for poor quality pictures, I don't actually own a camera, so these were all taken on my Girlfriend's iPhone.

Having these guys complete feels really special. They have the honor of being the first squad to be properly painted by me in a very long time. To me, they are a good omen of things to come. I pray that the rest of my army lives up to the standard these guys are setting!

Up next: Veteran Assault Squad! or Corbulo! Both probably! We'll see!

Yay!
